About Kaitlyn Choi

I let my curiosity take me to new fields, new people, and new learning.

Growth is a keyword of my career path. The opportunity to learn and be challenged to be better is what I value the most in my career. This mindset led me to PhD in biology and then teaching, which was not a traditional path for a newly minted PhD. I am currently teaching biology at Georgetown University, focusing on how to better connect with students and communicate the excitement of scientific discoveries.

And I am still learning. My recent interest is biotechnology—mainly RNA therapeutics and diagnostics—and I created this website to archive and share my thoughts on this fast-moving field. Learning innovative technologies and thinking about how they may change the existing market or create a new field require a big picture thinking and I’ve been enjoying it.

When I do not wear a professor hat or a biotech follower hat, you will find me hitting a strong shot on a tennis court, snowboarding on a snowy slope, playing the viola in my walk-in closet, or reading in bed making notes for the next bookclub meeting.
